The Print Center has just announced the Call for Entries for their 88th Annual International Competition, one of the most prestigious and oldest competitions in the United States. The Competition is open for all artists using Photography and/or Printmaking as critical components in their works. Awards include three (3) solo exhibitions at The Print Center to be held June-July 2014, Online exhibition, Philadelphia Museum of Art Purchase Award, Two-year contract from The Print Center Gallery Store, and up to $3,000 in purchase, cash and material prizes.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the world’s largest agency dealing with migration, is hosting a photo challenge for photography enthusiasts to showcase their camera skills. The photo challenge is open to everyone and photos taken with a camera or smartphone can be submitted. The winning entries will be featured in a special photo exhibition in the IOM Manila Administrative Centre (MAC) and a token of appreciation will be given to winners. Submitted photographs must have been taken within two (2) years before the date of entry and may not have been previously featured in any IOM collaterals.

Designpreis Halle eV is inviting designers from all over the world to prepare for the next (2014) edition of their international design competition, titled: Water. The competition is being held every three years and its aim is to bring together economy and design and to sharpen the senses for excellent design, as well as to offer an incentive for young designers to seek competition and to present their works to a wider audience. The prize money for Designpreis Halle 2014 is a total of 10,000 Euro! The organizers are looking for designs that examine the topic in an intense and creative manner – be it product-oriented or process-oriented. It may include inventing new services or suggesting innovative applications or user strategies but also designing products that address our treatment of water as a resource or examine the sensual qualities of water as a material.

NARS Foundation opens applications for its 2014-2015 International Artist Residency Program and invites emerging and mid-career artists as well as artists with established US and/or international reputations to apply. The NARS International Artist Residency Program provides US and international artists with the advantage of creating new work while engaging with the vibrant arts community in New York City. The program offers full and partial residential fellowships for a minimum of one month and up to twelve months. Artists-in-residence have access to an individual studio space and various professional development programs, including studio visits, artist talks, and workshops, as well as opportunities to share their work through exhibitions and an open studio event. The workspaces are located within one of the four NARS Studios, which house over 80 artist studios, located in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. Other than the core residency artists, the artist-in-residence can also take advantage of the interaction with over 120 New York City working artists in these studios.

The Fondation d’entreprise Hermès starts accepting submissions for its 2014 Prix Émile Hermès International Design Award competition on 1st September 2013 and invites young professional designers to join. For its third annual competition — themed “Time to yourself” — the Fondation has chosen a theme reflecting our increasingly vital need for a moment of peace, some time out, a brief pause – a chance to escape the relentless activity, ideas and obligations of the super-highway of modern life. Three (3) finalists will receive a total of 90,000 Euro, from which 50,000 Euro are reserved for the 1st prize!

SHOTS Magazine is currently accepting work for its 2013 annual Portfolio Issue from all photographers around the world. You’re invited to submit a cohesive series or a selection of your best images, for a chance to be featured on at least 4 pages in the 122nd, Winter issue of the Magazine. All processes and techniques are welcome and 12 to 20 images are required for consideration. Photographers who have been featured in past Portfolio Issues or who have been the subjects of interviews are not eligible for this issue.

Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation is currently accepting applications for their Artist in Residence scholarship for 2014. The Foundation’s intention is to support writers, visual artists, artists in the field of new media and interdisciplinary projects as well as composers. The residency lasts 2-6 months with a monthly grant of 1025 Euro for the selected artist. There is no age limit for applying. Schöppingen is located in the region of Western Münsterland (Germany, North Rhine Westphalia), between the cities of Münster and Enschede (NL).

The International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA) is currently accepting poster designs for their art competition, created to promote Rainwater Harvesting. For the fourth edition of this competition IRHA are looking for posters that illustrate the uses and/or benefits of rainwater harvesting. Posters can cover any aspect of rainwater harvesting, for example: domestic use, groundwater recharge, agriculture, or risk reduction. The creator of the winning poster will be awarded CHF 1000. The second place poster will receive CHF 600 and third place CHF 400.
