Held within the “Global Arctic Awards” project, the “Yamal In The Lens” International Photography Competition has been created to show the diverse life of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in Russia by means of photographic art. Professional and amateurs photographers are invited to participate and help show Yamal’s history, culture, everyday life and centuries-old traditions, modern cities and small towns, diversity of the animal world and surrounding. Pictorial photographs of any genre taken in Yamal-Nenets Okrug and issue-related to any aspect of nature and life of Yamal may be submitted.

Omi International Arts Center has recently opened application for its 2014 International Artists Residency program, inviting artists to apply for four weeks of creative work, cultural exchange and critical appraisal. Omi International Artists Residency invites visual artists from every continent, representing a wide diversity of artistic styles, to gather in rural New York State to experiment, collaborate and share ideas. Applications from self-taught professional artists are being accepted as well. The Residency takes place 19th June 2014 through 16th July 2014.
