National Portrait Gallery has just opened the Call for Entries for BP Portrait Award 2014, the most prestigious portrait painting competition in the world. Now in its thirty-fifth (35th) year at the National Portrait Gallery and twenty-fifth (25th) year of sponsorship by BP, the Competition for 2014 offers a first prize of £30,000, and a total prize fund of £61,000! The Award is aimed at encouraging artists to focus upon and develop portraiture in their work.
