Oasis magazine and AITN group present the 2014 Oasis Photo Contest (OPC), a major Italian award for wildlife and nature photography and one of the most important international competitions of its kind. More than 100 recognitions and a total money prize of 30,000 Euro will be awarded in the 2014 competition. The overall winner will receive a cash prize of 2,500 Euro and the prestigious Oasis Photo Contest trophy, a valuable sculpture in bronze made by the Italian artist Michele Vitaloni. Another great prize the Competition offers, consists of the publication of your photo in the official Oasis Photo Contest 2014 catalog, the most important showcase of nature photography in Italy and at international level, printed in English and Italian. In addition to the best 103 awarded images, the catalog will feature a thousand photographs that will have reached the final.

The Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) has opened its 2015 Global Design Awards competition, seeking for excellence in environmental and experiential Graphic Design. The SEGD Global Design Awards honor a wide range of projects, from interactive multi-media environments to complex hospital wayfinding systems, and from museum exhibition design to three-dimensional brand expression. Retail and interior projects, architectural signage, public art, design research, and books have also won SEGD Global Design Awards. The 2015 Competition launches with new entry categories which reflect the shifts that digital technology is creating in design for public spaces.

National Portrait Gallery has opened the 2015 Call for Entries for its annual Portrait Award painting competition, inviting artists to submit their work. The Portrait Award, now in its thirty-sixth year at the National Portrait Gallery and twenty-sixth year of sponsorship by BP, is the most prestigious portrait painting competition in the world. With a first prize of £30,000, and a total prize fund of £61,000, the Award is aimed at encouraging artists to focus upon and develop portraiture in their work. The competition is open to everyone aged 18 and over, limited to only one entry per artist. For the BP Portrait Award 2015 there is a new entry procedure and a new judging process.

The Call for Entries of the Fest Anča 2015 International Animation Festival has recently been opened for new animated films under 30 minutes, created between 2013 and 2015. The Festival program is competitive and six (6) competition awards – of more than 2,500 Euro – will be announced for the 2015 edition. The Hellenic Centre for Photography has recently opened the call for submissions for APhF:15, Athens Photo Festival 2015 and is currently seeking for photography projects, multimedia/video projects, and photobooks from photographers around the world. The selected projects will be presented and exhibited during the Athens Photo Festival 2015 at the Benaki Museum from 3 June to 26 July, 2015. The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is currently hosting its 2014 Student Design Competition (SDC) and inviting all interior design students to participate and compete for more than $4,700 in prizes. The IIDA Student Design Competition celebrates original design and rewards individuals and/or teams whose projects demonstrate innovative, functional design solutions that have a positive environmental and human impact. This year, students will evolve the concept of the open office to offer employees a workplace that encourages health, well-being, collaboration, and productivity. 1st prize – $2,500, 2nd place – $1,500, 3rd place – $750.

Forest Europe is pleased to invite you to the 2014 edition of the Show Off Your Forest photography contest. The protective role of forests, and how, in turn, we can protect them, is the central theme of this, second edition of Show Off Your Forest photography contest. The organizers invite you to show, with the aid of one or several photos, the benefits forests provide us with and how they protect us; what threats they face and what would happen if they weren’t protected; how they are being protected and how you can protect them. The winners of the Show Off Your Forest photography competition — the first prize winners in both competition categories — will be given a trip for two to a protected forest area in Spain. The prize includes the airfare and hotel accommodation, in addition to a guide who will accompany the winners on their visit to the nature park. The prize is worth over 1,500 Euro.
