The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) has recently opened for entries for the 2016-2017 cycle, themed “The Challenge“. The main theme for the Sixth Edition of HIPA is meant to provoke photographers’ inner thoughts and life impressions in search for the visuals that give expression to the meaning of challenge as they understand it from their own experience, and the individuality through which they treat it through the lens of a camera. The total prize money fund for 2016-2017 is astonishing $423,000, of which $120,000 are reserved for the Grand Prize. Two (2) special — non-monetary — awards will be announced as well.

The Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) is currently accepting entries in its 2016 Design Awards competition, for the best work in Australia across a wide range of disciplines. The competition is open for projects printed, published or installed between 1st July 2015 and 30th June 2016 in ten (10) professional and five (5) student categories. Finalists will be awarded with a certificate and the best entries, with trophies.
