The Art Moves festival is hosting its International Billboard Art Competition for 2017 and invites all the interested people, artists and students to participate. Submitted art works are supposed to be creative responses to this year’s competition theme: Involvement and responsibility. Can each of us co-create a better world? The best 10 artworks selected by an international jury panel will be printed and exhibited in the urban space of the city of Torun, Poland in September or October 2017. The author of the winning entry will receive the Main Award in the amount of 5,000 Polish złoty (about 1,188 Euro, $1,325).

The XI Vampilov International Theatrical Festival of Modern Drama is hosting the 2nd International Contest of the Theatrical Poster. The aim of the contest is the further development of theatrical poster as an art form, the strengthening of the international cultural ties, providing opportunities for participation for artists from all over the world. Two competition categories are available: classical poster and advertising video clips of performances for city boards, Internet and e-media.

3D Hubs has launched a call for submissions for its 2017 Student Grant, which will award the best 3D printed projects in product design, engineering and architecture. Student inventors, problem solvers and disruptors can participate with their creative ideas that push the boundaries of 3D printing. The awardee for each category will receive $500, an honorable mention from Brian Garret (3D Hubs co-founder) on LinkedIn and a professional photoshoot of their project.

The international call for entries for the 2017 edition of Taiwan’s Golden Pin Design Award has begun. The competition represents a chance for companies and brands around the world to test the viability of their products and projects in the dynamic Greater China region. Entries are accepted until in four award categories: Product Design, Visual Communication Design, Packaging Design, and Spatial Design. Golden Pin Best Design winners are invited to attend the exciting award ceremony in Taipei, where they are presented on stage with a bespoke trophy. Winners may also be eligible to access free networking, exhibition, sales, and promotion opportunities provided by the Taiwan Design Center.

Tschutti heftli, the Swiss football magazine is hosting an illustration competition for its 2018 football album and invites all illustrators to enter. Since 2008, the Magazine has been publishing a sticker album with football teams designed by illustrators, graphic designers, cartoonists and other artists. In order to find artists for the next album, they are holding this illustration competition. The winners will have the privilege to design one of the teams of the 2018 World Cup for the legendary collector’s album. The distribution of the album in Switzerland, Germany, and further mainly European countries will offer you a great platform to present your work to a large audience. All artists represented in their album will receive a lump sum for their expenses, the amount of which will be determined by the sales figures of our album. And they will award cash prizes totaling 5,000 Swiss Francs (approx. 4,600 Euros) for the best works.

The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) invite youth from around the world to submit original and creative videos for the PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival 2017. The festival is focused on migration, diversity and social inclusion. In a world often characterized by intolerance, and cultural and religious divisions, it is vital that youth are recognized as powerful agents of social change. PLURAL+ encourages youth to address key challenges and opportunities related to social inclusion and cohesion, migrant integration, respect for identity, diversity, human rights and xenophobia, both at local and global levels through video production.

Medicinal Bioconvergence Research Center (Biocon) from Seoul National University, Seoulin Bio Science and Gwacheon National Science Museum are jointly holding the 2017 Bio-Art Contest. This year, the contest is held under the theme of “Virtual life” and tries to find out the real value and beauty of life through the convergence of digital life and life as of the era of virtual reality. The winners of the contest will receive the sum of 10,000,000 KRW (approx. $9,000) including the Minister Prize from the Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning.

YAC – Young Architects Competitions – in cooperation with the Italian Government launches Observatory Houses, a competition of ideas to design a housing complex looking at the stars in the medieval fortress of Roccascalegna. An international jury panel gathering, among others, Enrique Sobejano, Rodrigo Duque Motta, Simon Frommenwiler, Pippo Ciorra will assess the submissions. A total amount of 20,000 Euro in money prize will be awarded.

The Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2017 competition is now in its final week for submissions and designers are one last time invited to participate. The annual competition is open to all design studios, companies, universities, research laboratories, inventors, design students and design professionals from anywhere in the world. All kinds of inventions, novelty designs and aesthetic designs that are not in the market, and not produced for sale before 2 July 2017 can be entered. This year’s Red Dot winners will emerge from 34 concept categories and will be announced  for their outstanding design quality and excellence on the 5 October 2017 in Singapore.
