The Moho organization is accepting applications for 2019, for its international award – the Moho Art Prize, awarded to artists aged under 50. Moho Art Prize awards the best international talents in contemporary art. Awarded categories are painting, sculpture and installation, photography, new media. The prize awarded is of the value of 30,000 Euro.

The 3rd Little Hakka International Picture Book Award is accepting entries for 2019 from all parts of the world. The Award aims at encouraging and rewarding all the publishing agencies and individuals who devote themselves to the creations of Picture Book. It also tries to explore talents and awesome works from China and abroad as well as creating more opportunities for the international exchange and cooperation among publishers, picture book authors and illustrators. For the 3rd Little Hakka International Picture Book Award competition, the organizers offer a total of $36,800 in prizes. All shortlisted entries, including the winner’s works, will be exhibited. Winners will also get certificates.

Middle East Institute (MEI) is pleased to announce that the submission period is open for its third annual digital photography contest: Untold Stories. This year’s contest seeks photographs with a story to tell about the people, places, history and culture of the Middle East and North Africa (defined as the region from Morocco to Afghanistan, and including Turkey). Prizes up to $500. Winning photos will be exhibited at the Middle East Institute and auctioned at MEI’s Annual Gala on 12 November 2019 in Washington, D.C. to support MEI’s arts and educational programs.

World Habitat, in collaboration with UN-Habitat, is looking for the world’s best housing solutions through the 2020 World Habitat Awards competition. Eligible for entry are projects from around the world that focus on affordable and adequate housing, that are in progress or have been completed in the last ten years and project that have been designed and/or delivered in close collaboration with the residents/local community. Two winners of the 2020 World Habitat Awards will receive a Gold Award and £10,000. There will also be Silver and Bronze Awards for other outstanding projects and programmes. In addition, winning projects will have the opportunity to share their approach to housing solutions through World Habitat’s Transfer Programme.

Apply now for the Pure Talents Contest 2020 at imm cologne, one of the world’s largest international interiors shows. Out of all entries 20 nominees will be invited for the exhibition in Cologne. The first three Prizes and the new Audience Prize for the best products are endowed with a prize money. The Pure Talents Contest, organised by imm cologne, one of the largest tradeshows for interior design worldwide, is one of the most prestigious awards for young product designers. Over the last sixteen years 456 products from 503 international designers had been presented in the annual exhibition during imm cologne. In its seventeenth edition in 2020 again up to 20 designers or designer groups will be invited to Cologne to present their prototypes to the interior design business in the special exhibition of the Pure Talents Contest.

Andreu World launches its 19th international design contest and opens registration for 2019 to both students and professionals from around the world. Participants are invited to design an item of furniture (chair and/or table) based on specifications provided in a brief. The best design for 2019 will be awarded with 4,000 Euro and the second-best, with 2,000 Euro. A maximum of four (4) non-monetary prizes will also be announced.

Laka Foundation is accepting entries for the Design that Educates Awards (DtEA) 2020 — international competition which recognizes the best ideas and implementations of architecture and design that can educate. The design itself may provide an informative and educational layer that guides us through the increasing complexity of our environment. It can showcase specific possibilities and challenges, explain sociocultural factors and influences, or even outline new scenarios for future development. The best projects in each competition category will be awarded with $1,250. In addition the best Emerging designer (student) will receive $625 and the winner of the Solarlux Choice award will receive $1,000. The projects of the winners and laureates of honorable mentions will be exhibited during the ‘Architecture in Foyer 2020’ conference at the Solarlux Campus in Germany on 23–24 April, 2020. The laureates will be invited to present their designs during the ceremony.

The 11th international PDP Conference proudly invites you to take part in this year’s poster design and photography exhibitions, on the theme: Absorption. The call is open to everyone from professional designers, illustrators, amateurs to interested artists and students, as well as to all professional and amateur photographers. The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) Student Design Competition, now in its 25th year, is open for entries for 2019. The PAVE Student Design Competition promotes “real world” design experience for college-level students interested in pursuing careers in the retail design industry. Students involved in retail planning, visual merchandising, interior design and branding programs are encouraged to participate. Prizes include grants to students and schools and winning students may even see their designs come to life.
