Karin Dom Foundation, with the support of VELUX Foundations, Varna Municipality, the Chamber of Architects and the Union of Architects in Bulgaria is hosting an international architecture competition. All architects from all over the world who are willing to work on, and are interested in social projects, are invited to participate in the competition for a new Karin Dom building. A total of 10,000 Euro will be awarded to the best three projects — First prize is 5,000 Euro + contract + publications; Second prize is 3,000 Euro + publications and Third prize is 2,000 Euro + publications.

Embracing Our Differences invites you to participate in its exhibition competition for 2021 and in creating a world where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated. Artists, photographers, professionals, amateurs, students are all invited to submit their interpretation of the theme “enriching lives through diversity”. A total of $3,000 (US) will be presented in the form of three separate awards – $1,000 each for “Best-in-Show Adult;” “Best-in-Show Student;” and the “People’s Choice.” Both “Best-in-Show” awards will be granted by a three-judge panel of art professionals. The “People’s Choice” award will be determined by visitors to the exhibit.

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) has announced its 2020 Student Design Competition, open to all students worldwide. The competition celebrates the talent and fresh design ideas of interior design students throughout the world who are currently enrolled in an interior design program or institution. It also provides emerging professionals the opportunity to showcase their work and gain exposure in the interior design industry. The prize fund for 2020 is almost $5,000. First, second, and third place winners will be selected by a jury of interior design and business professionals who will judge entries based on innovation and creativity, coherence and functionality, human impact, fulfillment of program requirements, and presentation of the information.

Type Directors Club (TDC) is hosting its 23rd annual Typeface Design Competition and accepting work by designers from all around the world. Any new typeface designs produced or published between 1st January and 31st December, 2019 are eligible. Entries selected by the jury will receive Certificates of Typographic Excellence. They will be exhibited in the 66th TDC Exhibition and appear in Typography 41. The opening of TDC66 will be held in New York City and will be on display during the summer of 2019.

The National Space Society (NSS) invites students worldwide up to 12th grade (18 years old) to participate in the 2020 edition of the annual Space Settlement Contest. Submissions must relate to free space settlements. Settlements may not be on a planet or moon, although support activities such as mining may be. Settlements must be permanent homes, not temporary work camps. Submissions may focus on one or a few aspects of space settlement and supporting systems, including mines, activities leading up to settlement (such as space hotels), economic and social issues, etc. The National Space Society (NSS) invites all 2020 contest participants to attend the NSS 2020 International Space Development Conference (ISDC) in Dallas, TX, 28–31 May 2020.
