The World Brand Design Society (WBDS) is accepting entries to its creative competitions for 2021/2022 across four categories. Agencies, creatives and students from all parts of the world are invited to submit their best work to the WBDS Agency Design Awards, WBDS In-House Design Awards, WBDS Creative Design Awards and WBDS Student Design Awards. Each competition aims to recognize a different part of the branding industry with different awards and uncover the best design projects worldwide.

Lucca Biennale Cartasia (LuBiCa) festival is the biggest art event dedicated to paper art. Artists that work with cardboard and paper are encouraged to participate in the contest with an innovative project for a monumental sculpture. LuBiCa is looking for emerging and affirmed artists to work in Lucca, Tuscany, during an artistic residency in July 2022. The selected artworks will be exhibited in the most popular squares of the city during the event, scheduled for 31st July — 25th September, 2022.

Toyota Material Handling Europe is calling for submissions to the Toyota Logistic Design Competition 2022 — dedicated to urban micrologistics. The competition is open to university design students and recent graduates (2021), from all over the world. Only participants who belong to an undergraduate or graduate university programme are eligible to compete. Although the competition is focused on industrial design, product design and transportation design, students with a background in business, fashion, engineering, architecture etc. are also welcome to submit their work. Three winning entries will be generously rewarded with cash prizes. First prize €5,500, second prize €3,300, third prize €2,200.

Quickdraw Animation Society (QAS) is accepting submissions for 2021, for the 17th GIRAF International Festival of Independent Animation. The organizers are looking for animation submissions, in all styles, genres, lengths, and mediums, to present to their audience in Calgary, Canada. Selected films will be presented during GIRAF 17 — scheduled for November 2021 — and the best International and Canadian short film will be awarded.

Epson has launched the 12th International Pano Awards and opened entry for 2021 to photographers from all parts of the world. The competition is dedicated to the craft and art of panoramic photography, and is the world’s largest competition devoted to the genre.. Each year the top performing photographers are showcased in hundreds of publications worldwide – and once again this year the prize pool value is a whopping US$40,000 – including $13,500 cash!

Braun celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2021 and is pleased to announce the 21st Braun Prize International Design Competition, with a virtual awards ceremony due to take place in October 2021. Great designs, visionary ideas and clever solutions from all over the world are eligible for submission. With the motto “Your History has Design”, the Salão Award Design, promoted by the Furniture Industry Union of Bento Gonçalves (RS), launches the campaign for its 24th edition. The 2022 Salão Design Award is only open for furniture projects, with no categories for accessories and lighting. The award is open to students and design professionals and related areas, with a total of R$ 80,000 in prizes in these two modalities, in addition to honorable mentions that can be designated by the judges.

The 2021 Zhejiang Yunhe Wooden Toy Creative Design Competition, themed “Wooden toy, Learning by playing!“, has opened. Zhejiang Yunhe Wooden Toy Creative Design Competition, established in Yunhe, 2015, aims to promote the innovation of wooden toys product, explore design and development talents in wooden toys design industrial and sustainable development of the wooden toy industry. The organizers will award a total of 135,000 RMB (more than $20,000) and certificates. The best design will be awarded with 50,000 RMB (more than $7,000).

Europan Norway provides architects, landscape architects and planners under the age of 40 a unique possibility to contribute to the important discussion of the evolution of the European city. Europan is excited to have four sites in the municipalities of Haugesund, Levanger, Nesodden, and Ringerike that will explore the topic of the Living Cities. The 1st prize is equivalent to 12,000 Euro and working commissions with the selected Norwegian municipalities up to 1,5 million Norwegian Kroners.

Embracing Our Differences invites you to participate in the 2022 Exhibition Competition and in creating a world where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated. Artists, photographers, professionals, amateurs, students are all invited to submit their interpretation of the theme “enriching lives through diversity”. A total of $3,000 (US) will be presented in the form of three separate awards – $1,000 each for “Best-in-Show Adult;” “Best-in-Show Student;” and the “People’s Choice.” Both “Best-in-Show” awards will be granted by a three-judge panel of art professionals. The “People’s Choice” award will be determined by visitors to the exhibit.
