Submissions are now open for the 6th edition of the BCN-DH Photography Contest, the Barcelona International Photography Festival on Human Rights and Global Justice.
The Más Retina Association is launching this initiative aimed at finding, recognizing and promoting the best photographic projects on human rights and global justice.
The ten projects selected by the jury will be exhibited from 1 December 2026 to 10 January 2027 during the festival in the streets of Barcelona and will be part of the catalog of the 2026 edition. The best of the ten projects will receive a prize of 3,000 Euro.
This year, there are four categories for submissions:
- Social Justice – projects focused on inequalities, discrimination, exclusion, and fundamental rights
- Climate Justice – projects that reflect the social and territorial inequalities linked to the ecological and climate crisis, as well as the resistance and alternatives that defend the right to a healthy and just environment
- Gender Justice – submissions that highlight gender-related inequalities, violence, and resistance, as well as the struggles for a more just, inclusive, and equitable society
- Economic Justice – submissions that reflect inequalities in access to resources and economic opportunities, as well as those that highlight struggles and alternatives toward a fairer economic model
There are three other prizes of 400 Euro each for the best works in the categories that make up the competition.
The photographic projects submitted must address themes related to Human Rights and global justice and integrate a gender perspective. Works oriented towards any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda will be favorably considered, as well as those that demonstrate an understanding of the global development model and the interdependent relationships between actors and countries, and an approach to the causes of inequalities.
Photographers, both professional and amateur, of legal age and of any nationality, are eligible to participate.

6th Barcelona Human Rights International Photo Festival – Submission Fee
The submission fee is €5. Each entry must include 15 digital images.
Submissions must be made exclusively via the Picter platform, and prior registration is required.
