Adblock Plus, has today launched the “Adblock Plus Creative Challenge”, asking budding filmmakers from across the world to showcase their talents to create a short film highlighting the annoying nature of online advertisements.

The “Adblock Plus Creative Challenge” competition is a quest for talented filmmakers and animators to demonstrate their skills. The competition aims to urge filmmakers to think about how online advertising might negatively affect the user experience on the web, and further highlight the disconnect between online advertisers and users.
The winning prize offers a choice of either a four-week filmmaking workshop at the renowned International Academy of Film and Television in the Philippines, or a $5,000 USD reward to spend on filmmaking equipment.
The deadline for submissions is 31 May 2013. A voting period will then follow this in which both the community and professional judges – including Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Matthew O’Neill, TPB AFK director Simon Klose – will define the winners, who will be announced in the beginning of July.
