Siberian Federal University and the ARCH_TAIGA project team invite architecture students, professional architects and designers to take part in an international architectural ideas contest for Siberia.
The main task of the contestants is to work out the project of an ice palace (winter amusement snow park), situated on one of the main playgrounds of Tatyshev island, which will become popular among citizens of Krasnoyarsk and also will attract tourist flow during Winter Universiade 2019.
The best projects and contest winners will be awarded prizes of the contest sponsors and Laureate Diplomas. The Grand prize is a trip to Naples (Italy) or Krasnoyarsk (Russia), according to winner’s preference, and includes a budget of 2.500 Euro. A total of six (6) prizes different will be awarded.
The infrastructure of the snow park will include: ice bar, restaurants and cafes, snow amusements, ice bowling, museum-exhibition areas, playgrounds for kids, labyrinths etc. This list is up to contestants to decide.
Due to climatic characteristics of the region, while developing the project (namely, infrastructure facilities) it is preferable to take into account the possibility of using ice and snow. Winter temperatures are usually below -15° C, and such temperature is altogether 5-6 months of the year.
