Now in its 9th year, BendFilm Festival celebrates independent cinema’s brave voices by bringing thought-provoking, inspiring, and engaging films from all over the world to Central Oregon’s scenic mountainous town of Bend. The Festival is now accepting entries for its 2012 edition.
Unmistakably filmmaker-friendly, BendFilm has been deemed one of “25 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” by MovieMaker Magazine, and declared “an important creation for filmmakers” by Gus Van Sant.
BendFilm Festival offers cash prizes in several award categories.
BendFilm Festival 2012 is Calling for Independent Films
BendFilm celebrates the brave voice of independent cinema through films, lectures and education.
The Festival new independent films in the following categories:
- Narrative Feature
All narrative features are invited to submit. - Documentary Feature
All documentary features are invited to submit in this category. - Short Film
All non-student short films are invited to submit in this category – including short docs. and animated shorts. - Conservation
Films that adeptly articulate a significant message of conservation are invited to submit in this category. - Student Film
All student films are invited to submit in this category – including shorts, docs and animated films. - Animated Film
All animated films are invited to submit in this category. Films in this category may be of any animation type, including but not limited to: hand animated or computer generated, clay animation, stop motion or other animated medium. Films may be of any length, and may be narrative feature, music video, documentary or conservation films.
Films previously submitted to BendFilm will not be considered unless they are substantially altered.
Deadlines:
- Earlybird Deadline – 15 March 2012
- Regular Deadline – 15 May 2012
- Late Deadline – 12 June 2012
- Withoutabox Extended Deadline – 15 July 2012
Entry Fee
Entry fees start from $20 per entry and vary depending on the type of the entry.
