BIG SEE Awards 2027

Zavod Big has opened entries for the BIG SEE Awards 2027. Established in 2018, the awards recognise excellence in architecture, interior design, and product design.

Architects, interior designers, product designers, and manufacturers from around the world are invited to participate. Architecture and interior design entries must cover projects completed within the last three years. Product entries must have been launched on the market within the two years preceding submission, or hold a confirmed launch date no later than the award ceremony.

The awards carry no cash prize. Awarded projects receive an award logo, an official certificate, and a trophy, and the jury names one Grand Prix winner per category. Winners are also published on the official website, presented on stage at the festival, and offered professional meetings, festival passes, and promotional support.

Competition categories include:

• Architecture – fifteen categories, from residential houses and multi-unit housing to healthcare, hospitality, adaptive reuse, heritage, landscape architecture, and small-scale interventions.
• Interior Design – retail, hospitality, workplace, healthcare, public and civic, residential, and exhibition and installation projects.
• Product Design – furniture, lighting, building products and systems, kitchen and home appliances, consumer electronics, urban and public products, mobility and transport, and collectible design, plus a special recognition for sustainable and responsible design.

An international jury of industry experts reviews the entries. Architecture and interior design projects are assessed on innovation, intelligent design, and originality, environmental sensitivity and sustainability, cultural and social awareness, and functionality. Product entries are assessed on ergonomics, aesthetics, ethics, ecology, emotion, and business potential.

Entries may be submitted by the authors, clients, suppliers, or contractors involved in a project, and multiple projects may be entered provided that each carries a separate application form and fee. Product entries are submitted by the author or the manufacturer. Each entry must be accompanied by 6–15 high-resolution project photos, while architecture and interior design submissions also require vector-based plans and a portrait of the author or author team. Application forms must be completed in English.

Jury evaluation runs through the spring of 2027, and winners are notified individually on a rolling basis. The awards are presented at the BIG SEE Festival in Portorož, Slovenia, on 20–21 May 2027, with stage presentations and trophy awarding, the Grand Prix Night on 21 May 2027, a trade show of innovations, and a conference programme. Award logos and certificates, publication of the winning projects, and social media posts are issued ahead of the festival.

Previously, entries have come from 76 countries. The BIG SEE platform receives more than one million annual visitors, and the organiser reports a social media reach of 2.5M+ across its network. Awarded entrants can also take part in one or two curated professional meetings with architects, experts, and companies during the festival.

BIG SEE Awards 2027 – Registration Fee

The registration fee is €150 per entry at the Early Bird tier. Payment falls due upon submission, and entries are accepted only once the fee has been received.

Winners must additionally purchase a Winner’s Package at award confirmation, which is a condition for receiving the award and its promotional benefits.
