Andreu World has launched its 25th international design contest and opened registration for 2026 to both students and professionals worldwide. This edition, which celebrates the 25th anniversary of the contest, aims to create furniture designed for the circular economy, with a positive impact on people and the planet. It promotes designs that combine creativity, functionality, and respect for the environment. The best design for 2026 will be awarded with €5,000. The second prize is €2,500. The jury will also announce 3 special mentions.

With the aim of raising awareness among students who will lead the future of coin design, the Japan Mint is hosting the International Coin Design Competition (ICDC) 2026, inviting participation from students both in Japan and abroad. Any student who is registered at any school and was born on or after 31 August 1996 is qualified to enter and submission of a coin design (the obverse and reverse sides) is required. The best designs will be awarded with monetary prizes, plaques, certificates and more. The Grand Award is 100,000 yen.

The Kokuyo Design Award 2027, themed “dialogue.” has been announced! This time the Award focuses on the reciprocal relationships that lie behind excellent design, specifically between “the people who create objects, and the users,” “the users and the objects,” and “the objects and their surrounding environment”. Kokuyo are seeking designs that explore unknown ideas and insights within this new “space” and expand the possibilities of living, learning, and working. The best design will be awarded with ¥2,000,000 — about $13,000. Three Merit awards of ¥500,000 each, will also be selected, along with up to 10 winners for the New Generation Award — awarded with ¥30,000 each.

The 2026 IIDA Global Excellence Awards have been announced. 2026 commemorates the 17th annual design competition. The IIDA Global Excellence Awards honor excellence in originality and creativity in international interior design and interior architecture projects across 19 categories. Winners will be celebrated with an awards ceremony in Paris, France in February 2027. Winners will also be featured on IIDA.org and across IIDA’s social media platforms, receive official digital assets, including competition winner logos for self-promotion, and coverage in an official press release distributed to leading industry outlets and media partners.

The Korean Federation of Design Industry Associations (KODIA) is calling for applications to the Global Design iT Award 2026. This is Korea’s representative international design award, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The Award’s purpose is to discover design companies and designers who have created social impact with special ‘iT’ designs and to promote international exchange.

The un Design Award has entered its second season and it is open for entries for 2026. Centered around the theme “The Self is the World“, the competition embraces an operational philosophy of being “undefined”. Its aim is to discover and recognize the most influential, outstanding designs and innovative talents worldwide. Based on the collective average scores of the submissions, the un Design Award will confer “Platinum,” “Gold,” and “Silver” awards.

The Green Product Awards are open for submissions for 2027, awarding the best products of established companies and start-ups, as well as visionary design concepts. For the 2027 cycle, the Awards introduce a clear certification structure where all submissions are checked, reviewed by the international expert jury and assessed against published criteria. Projects that qualify are recognized as Finalists or Winners and receive defined communication assets, seals and certificate.
