The 45th Uppsala Short Film Festival is calling for short films of all genres with a running time of no more than 40 minutes. Uppsala Short Film Festival is recognized by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which means that winning the international or national competition at the festival may qualify a film for Oscar consideration. The festival is also recognized by the European Film Academy and BAFTA. Screening at the festival qualifies Swedish short films for Guldbagge nominations. Films are submitted to either of the three competitive sections, awarding prize money amounting to more than 20,000 Euro.

Film submissions are now open for the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) 2026, scheduled for 23–27 September 2026. The Pro Carton Student Video Award is a European competition for video storytelling about folding cartons and cartonboard. Your video should promote or explain one or more of the benefits of folding cartons (or cartonboard) in a creative way. The competition is open to students enrolled at a European school, college or university. The best video will win €3,000!

Animage — 16th International Animation Festival of Pernambuco is accepting submissions for 2026 and invites entries by filmmakers from around the world. Epson has launched the 17th International Pano Awards. Entry is now open to photographers worldwide for panoramic photography created in 2026. The competition is dedicated to the craft and art of panoramic photography, and is the world’s largest competition devoted to the genre. The prize pool this year is again well in excess of US$50,000, including $15,000 in cash and for the Open winner – a package exceeding $11,000!

The 2026 Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC), on the theme “Resilience“, has been announced. The purpose of TISDC is to encourage international creative design exchanges, develop creative design talents, showcase the international image of Taiwan on creative design, and establish Taiwan’s international design reputation. The total prize fund for 2026 is more than $120,000 in prize money — $13,000 of which are reserved for the winner of the Grand Prix. Awarding cups and certificates will also be awarded.
