Screening the best in International contemporary short cinema at venues across the Scottish capital, the Edinburgh Short Film Festival (ESFF) is now open for submissions for 2017.
The Festival is open to any form of short film, genre, budgets and techniques. The maximum duration for submitted films is 20 minutes, including credits.
The best films will be screened at the Filmhouse and Summerhall in Edinburgh, this Autumn during the 7th edition of the festival, scheduled for 27 October – 11 November, 2017. A total of $2,000 (USD) will be awarded in prize money.
The selected submissions will also be included in the Festival’s programmes for other festivals across the UK & Internationally and this year, the organizers are excited to be programming films for their 2017 partners:
- Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (Tokyo)
- The Sardinia Film Festival
- Scots Day Out, Bendigo
Devoted to screening short film from Edinburgh, Scotland and around the world, The ESFF evolved from the Leith Short Film Festival in 2011 and has shown everything – from the first film made in Somalia in 20 years, to Oscar nominated shorts from Australia, the USA and Ireland, as well as short films smuggled out of China and Iran – and hosted visiting film-makers from China, Russia, Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and all over the UK.
Edinburgh Short Film Festival (ESFF) 2017 Entry Fees
The regular submission fee is £15 per short film.
For Early Bird entries — submitted by 30 January 2017, the fee is £12. Entries submitted after 15 May 2017 will be considered late and cost £20 per film.
