Małgorzata Pawełek, with the support of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, is hosting the emBrace Yourself competition on the subject of scoliosis.
The subject of the competition is to design a modular spinal brace for the correction of scoliosis using 3D printing technology.
A total of 20,000 PLN will be awarded to multiple prize winners. The first prize awarded to the best project is 10,000 PLN.
At the moment, trunk orthoses are manufactured by hand all over the world. This not only affects the limited accuracy, but also the long waiting times for products. EmBrace Yourself wants to inspire the creation of personalized, functional solutions and change industry trends.
The idea behind the competition is to create a modern, modular form of a corset to correct spinal deformity using 3D printing and HP MultiJet Fusion.
Projects taking part in the competition should take into account innovative and creative, complex activities.
Each participant has the right to submit more than one project.
The competition is directed only to students and graduates of design-related faculties who have the skills necessary to carry out the competition work.
