Film Festival Na Poti 2010

Slovenska filantropija and Zavod Voluntariat are organizing a festival of migrant films which will run from 14 – 20 June.

This festival is titled On the road (Na poti) in honour of World Refugee Day (20th of June) and will take place in different venues in Ljubljana.

Film is a particularly attractive and effective communication medium suitable for reaching and involving a broad audience that is why “Na Poti” is organized – to raise awareness among the Slovene public and media for the above-mentioned themes.

Objective

Similarly, “Na Poti” wishes to offer all interested individuals a possibility to participate in the festival by presenting their own points of view about these topics. For this reason “Na Poti” dedicated one of the sections of the festival to presentation of short movies made by persons like you!

You don’t have to be a professional to participate in this festival, you just have to feel like publicly broadcasting your creations and share your opinions with others!

Prizes

During the festival films of different genres (documentary, feature films, full-length/short films, animated films etc.) and diverse perspectives relating to (forced) migration, asylum and refugees will be featured. Films will be combined with a series of debates, workshops and round table discussions with invited experts and other guests who will offer their personal expertise, experience and views in order to expand and deepen understanding of selected topics presented in the films.

Rules

• Delivery date before 1 June 2010.
• Festival’s date: 14th to 20th June 2010
• Place: Ljubljana, Slovenia (screenings will take place at different venues around the city)
• Theme: migration, asylum and refugees (integration of migrants, ecological migrations, economical migrations, unaccompanied minors / separated children, human trafficking, forced migrations, women and migrations, etc)
• Production Year: Films made after January 2006.
• Genre: Documentary, drama, animation, fiction, other.
• Nationality: all countries.
• Language: All languages (English subtitles are imperative).
• Duration: 30 minutes max.
• Format: DV PAL (avi)

To enter, you will need to send:

• A copy of the DVD with the following information included:
  • Film Title
  • Contact email
  • Name of author / s
  • Duration in minutes
    (The DVD will not be returned)
• Completed Registration Form
