Gallery 263 is Accepting Proposals for the Summer 2012 Residency
In 2010, Gallery 263 created the Artist-in-Residency Program to offer affordable shared studio space for emerging artists, and to initiate interactions between the Cambridge community and its artist residents. The program emphasizes not only the final product of art, but the creative process.
Each residency session is twelve weeks in length. The space will be shared by three to five artists, all mediums welcome to apply (painters, writers, musicians, etc.).
Group proposals are welcome and encouraged. If you are a part of a collaborative / collective that would be interested in a Residency, you may submit one narrative for the group. If selected, each member will be considered an individual resident. Artists are selected on the basis of their work quality, originality, and their personal commitment to community interaction and collaboration. Traditionally the end of each Residency period concludes with a two week group exhibition.
Applications should include a one page narrative describing the current focus of your work and how you would use the Residency Period at Gallery 263.
Entry Fee
There is no submission fee, but if selected the studio fee is $150-$200 per 4 weeks.
