Taiwan’s Golden Pin Design Award 2019 call for entries is now open. The Golden Pin Design Award is the most influential design award in the huaren (Chinese-speaking) world.
As the longest-running international design award that celebrates products or projects expressly created for Chinese-speaking communities, the annual Golden Pin Design Award offers entrants an unprecedented opportunity to prove their prowess in the world’s largest market.
The award is a golden opportunity for companies, design teams, and individuals from all around the globe to demonstrate design excellence in Taiwan, Asia, and beyond.
Judging is split into four categories — product design, communication design, spatial design, and integration design which is a new category for projects that integrate multiple design disciplines including professional curation, service design, and more.
Last year’s winners include the likes of Hong Kong-based designers XCEPT and Dimension Plus, who both won Best Design in the integration design category. The international judges at last year’s final selection were Edmond Bakos (Managing Director of CHAMPALIMAUD Design — USA), Ad van Berlo (Founder of VanBerlo — Netherlands), Kashiwa Sato (Creative Director of SAMURAI Inc. — Japan), and Chris Lee (Founder and Creative Director of Asylum — Singapore).
The first round of judging takes place in mid-July, the second and third rounds in August and September, and the award ceremony will be held in Taipei on 5 December 2019. The Design Mark winners will be announced after secondary selection in September, and the Best Design trophies are to be awarded at the ceremony.
