Lexus has recently launched its 2014 Design Award, an international design competition targeting the next generation of innovators around the world. The theme for the next year’s Award is Curiosity.
The competition provides an opportunity for the winners to showcase their works while receiving feedback from world-renowned design professionals. Additionally, two winners will work with a famous designer as a mentor to create prototypes of their designs.
Twelve (12) entries will win awards and only two of them will receive up to five million yen (more than US $50,000) each to cover prototype production costs.
The designers of the two entries will create prototypes of their award winning designs between January and March 2014 through sessions with two assigned mentors and will be invited to Milan Design Week 2014 to show their prototypes.
Through this initiative, Lexus hopes to contribute to supporting the next generation of creators.
