UAE Modern, in collaboration with Dubai Design Week and MAS Paints, is calling for entries for the “Nature Based Generations” contest.
The “Nature Based Generations” contest rewards best practices, projects, products, researches, applications, initiatives and solutions adopting a nature driven approach in tackling economic, social and environmental challenges, and is part of the UAE Modern initiative for the Dubai Design Week 2019.
The aim is to reward best practices, projects, products, researches, applications, initiatives and solutions including, but not limited to, climate change, water and food security, water pollution, human health and disaster risk management.
Submissions must fall in one of the categories below:
- cities
- communities
- materials and processes
- nutrition
- energy
The call is open to a variety of players ranging from NGOs to international and local institutions, to groups to individuals, who are actively contributing to address the above challenges.
Ten (10) shortlisted applicants for each category will be notified by the 11th September 2019 and will have until the 30th of September 2019 to provide a high-resolution file of their submission.
Team representatives of the five (5) applications (one for each category) that will get the highest scores by the Scientific Committee will be invited to participate in a panel discussion to take place on main stage, at the D3, during the Dubai Design Week. Travel and boarding expenses of the invitees will be granted thanks to sponsorships.
The Dubai Design Week 2019 is scheduled for 11–16 November 2019 at Dubai Design District, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
