The Nikon Film and Photo Contest 2024-2025 is open for entries to all photographers/filmmakers from around the world.
The theme of this year’s competitions is “Inspire“.
The Grand prize for the 2024-2025 cycle is 500,000 Japanese yen in cash for each competition. Excellence, Special Encouragement and General Public Awards (in Nikon equipment) will also be selected in each competition category.
The Nikon Film and Photo Contest fosters an ambitious community that supports creators who communicate important stories and inspire the way people think through the global language of imaging.
The organizers look forward to seeing works that will positively influence viewers and inspire new perspectives and emotions.
Anyone can enter the competition regardless of nationality, age, gender, or professional/amateur status. Individuals under the age of 18 need the permission of a parent or guardian.
Any photography or film equipment is allowed.
Nikon has held film and photo contests for more than half a century since the Nikon Photo Contest International in 1969, with the aims of providing a place for professionals and amateurs alike around the world who love photos and films to interact, and contributing to the development of imaging culture.
Following the wider adoption of digital cameras in society, the environment surrounding cameras and imaging culture has changed significantly. The contest always seeks the best way to solicit entries for the times, so for the 34th contest in 2012, the name was changed to the Nikon Photo Contest. For the 40th contest this year, the name was changed to the Nikon Film and Photo Contest in response to the changing times, such as the diversification of media and the rise of personal video streaming devices. This contest continues to evolve in order to discover new perspectives and create new opportunities.
