The Derwent Art Prize is one of the world’s top art competitions, celebrating excellence in contemporary pencil art. Created in 2012 by Derwent, the Prize invites artists worldwide to submit their finest 2D and 3D artworks crafted in any pencil—including colour, water-soluble, pastel, graphite, and charcoal pencils. Dedicated to championing art made in pencil and supporting artists in their careers, the Derwent Art Prize presents an international exhibition at OXO Gallery, London, UK and offers a prize fund totaling £13,500 to winning artists.

The call for entries of the Derwent Art Prize 2021 competition is open and artists from around the world are invited to submit their best pencil works. The Derwent Art Prize aims to reward excellence by showcasing the very best 2D & 3D artworks created in pencil or colored pencil as well as water soluble, pastel, graphite and charcoal by British and International artists. Selected artworks will be displayed at Gallery@OXO in central London from 24 February – 6 March 2022. Alongside the chosen artworks being hung in a public display, prizes totaling £12,500 will be awarded in an awards ceremony on the opening night of the exhibition.

The Cumberland Pencil Company is delighted to announce their inaugural Derwent Art Prize. The aim of the Prize is to reward excellence through showcasing the very best international works created in pencil. It is an open submission opportunity for British and international artists, offering prizes of up to £8,750. An exhibition of selected works will be held at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London SW1 from 16-21 September 2013 and all selected artists will be featured on the Derwent Art Prize website. The Derwent Art Prize 2013 exhibition will then tour to venues across the UK, including the Pencil Museum in Keswick, Cumbria.
