The call for entries of the Derwent Art Prize 2016 competition is now open and artists from around the world are invited to submit their best pencil works.
The Derwent Art Prize aims to reward excellence in pencil art, including 2D and 3D works created with any pencil or colored pencil as well as water soluble, pastel, graphite or charcoal pencils.
There are almost £12,500 worth of prizes to be won, of which £6,000 are reserved for the First Prize. An exhibition of the selected work will be on show at the Mall Galleries, London from 19-24 September 2016.
Artists are invited to submit up to 6 images of pencil works, produced within the last 3 years, which do not exceed 182cm in its greatest dimension.
Following the selection process, all artists will be notified by 24th June 2016. From the open submission applications the panel will select approximately eighty (80) works for exhibition.

The entry fee is £10 for the first work and £2 for additional works.
