Lexus invites today’s emerging design leaders to ‘Design for a Better Tomorrow’ and enter the Lexus Design Award 2020 competition. Submitted concepts must anticipate a challenge of the future, address that challenge with an innovative solution, and captivate the imagination with its exceptional design. Six Finalists will be chosen to attend Milan Design Week where prototypes of their submitted proposals will be exhibited at the 2020 Lexus Design Event. At Milan, the 6 Finalists will present their works to a panel of esteemed judges and one Grand Prix Winner will be selected.

The Lexus Design Award 2019 competition, themed: “Design for a better tomorrow. Anticipate. Innovate. Captivate.“, is open for submissions. The competition targets up-and-coming creators from around the world. The award seeks to foster the growth of ideas that contribute to society by supporting designers and creators whose works can help to shape a better future. Finalists will be mentored by worldly acclaimed professionals, receive over $25,000 of funding to develop their prototype and travel to Milan Design Week 2019 to exhibit their work on the world’s biggest design stage to compete for the Grand Prix.

The call for entries for the Lexus Design Award 2016 – Anticipation – competition has recently been opened and designers from all fields are invited to participate. The organizers are looking for “Design” that goes beyond the mastery of shape, form and function, and becomes a process and solution to overcome challenges. Participants are competing for invitations to Milan Design Week 2016, up to 3 million Yen to assist in production costs of prototype and mentorship.

Lexus has recently launched its 2014 Design Award, an international design competition targeting the next generation of innovators around the world. The theme for the next year’s Award is Curiosity. The competition provides an opportunity for the winners to showcase their works while receiving feedback from world-renowned design professionals. Additionally, two winners will work with a famous designer as a mentor to create prototypes of their designs. Twelve (12) entries will win awards and only two of them will receive up to five million yen (more than US $50,000) each to cover prototype production costs.
