To promote the exercise of good design, MUMEDI, the Mexican Museum of Design, represented by the MUMEDI Foundation, is calling for entries for the “To Death with a Smile” 2017-2018 International Poster Contest. The subject is death, a personal consideration or approach, the meaning in your own culture, how we fear, celebrate or deal with it. It can be reflected in serious or playful way in a freestyle technique. A selection of the best 300 to 500 posters will be exhibited at MUMEDI, from October 2017 to March 2018 in the Downtown area of Mexico City. In the month of February 2018 a special selection of some of the best posters will be exhibited in Finland at the Lahti Poster Museum.

MUMEDI, the Mexican Museum of Design, represented by the MUMEDI Foundation, call designers, students, teachers, professionals and anyone interested in the subject, to participate in the 2015 “To Death with a Smile” international poster design contest, to promote the exercise of good design. The competition theme is about death — a personal consideration or approach, the meaning in your own culture, how we fear, celebrate or deal with it — and can be reflected in serious or playful way. The best three poster designs will be awarded with separate prizes. A selection of the best 300 or 400 posters will be exhibited at MUMEDI, for a period of 3 to 4 months.

Very unusual theme and yet so challenging. Anyone can participate from anywhere in the world, but must be at least 18 years old.
