Population Connection is hosting the World of 7 Billion student video contest for 2018–2019 and invites students around the world to participate. The World of 7 Billion contest helps bring technology and creativity into middle and high school classes worldwide. Students are challenged to create a short video connecting world population growth and one of three global challenges: Preserving Biodiversity, Sustainable Resource Use or Protecting Human Rights. Students can win up to $1,000 in each of the three (3) competition categories. The total prize money fund of the 2018–2019 contest is $7,500.

Students can win up to $1,000 in each of the three (3) competition categories. The total prize money fund of the 2017–2018 contest is $7,500.

Population Connection, as part of its Population Education program, is accepting entries in the World of 7 Billion Student Video Contest 2016-2017. All students worldwide (grade 6-12, or the international equivalent) are invited to create a short video – up to 60 seconds – about human population growth that highlights one of the following global challenges: Climate Change, Ocean Health, or Rapid Urbanization. A total of $7,500 will be awarded in separate category prizes. The first place prize for each category is either $1,000 or $500, depending on the grade.
