The Vilcek Foundation is accepting applications for the 2021 Creative Promise Prizes in Biomedical Science and Filmmaking. The Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise were established in 2009 as a complement to the Vilcek Prizes, to encourage and support emerging to mid-career immigrant artists and scientists who have demonstrated exceptional achievements early in their careers. As with the Vilcek Prizes, the Creative Promise Prizes are awarded annually in biomedical science and in a rotating category of the arts. Three winners are selected in each category through an application process juried by panels of experts in each field. Prizewinners each receive a $50,000 cash award and are honored at an awards ceremony in New York City.

Applications are now open for the 2017 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise, which for this cycle are awarded in the fields of biomedical science and fine arts. This is the first time that Fine Arts is a category for the Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise. Artists across all media (who are not currently full-time students) are eligible to apply. Collectives are also welcome, provided all members meet the eligibility requirements. Three prizes are awarded in both categories, and each prize includes a $50,000 unrestricted cash award.

The Vilcek Foundation has recently opened for applications for its 2016 Prizes for Creative Promise in Biomedical Science and Arts. The Arts category for 2016 is dedicated to recognizing accomplishments in the field of theatre. The Vilcek Foundation awards these prizes annually to immigrants who have made lasting contributions to American society through their extraordinary achievements in biomedical research and the arts and humanities. In 2016, three (3) $50,000 cash prizes will be awarded in each of the two competition categories – Biomedical Science and Theatre.

The Vilcek Foundation is seeking applications for the 2015 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Fashion to award three prizes of $50,000 each to young immigrant fashion professionals who demonstrate outstanding early achievement. The Foundation has chosen the field of fashion as the award category for the 2015 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in the Arts. Eligible candidates include fashion designers, stylists, hair/makeup artists, writers, curators, photographers, filmmakers and illustrators, born outside the United States and 38 years old or under.

The Vilcek Foundation is seeking applicants for the 2014 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Design. Three winners will each receive a $35,000 unrestricted cash prize! The Foundation has chosen the field of design as the award category for the 2014 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in the Arts, and is accepting applications through 14th August 2013. Eligible to apply are foreign-born professionals working in the fields of product, graphic, digital or social design and applicants must be naturalized citizens or permanent residents of the U.S., no more than 35 years old as of 1st January 2014.
