The OSTEN 47th World Gallery Of Cartoons Skopje 2016 is now open for applications from all cartoonists — professional, semi-professional and amateur — around the world.
New and original hand-drawn works on paper — cartoons, satirical drawings and comics/strips — are eligible for submission.
Awarded cartoonists receive plaques, money prizes, and are also invited to the awards presenting ceremony to receive the award in person. In 2016, three (3) first awards and ten (10) special awards will be announced. One Macedonian cartoonist will also receive the CICO Award.
For every edition of the World Gallery of Cartoons, OSTEN also publishes an exclusive catalog with the selected cartoonists/works.
Judging for the 2016 competition will take place in April 2016. The exhibition opening is scheduled for 26th May 2016 at OSTEN Gallery in Skopje.
OSTEN’s World Gallery of Cartoons is the one and only event of such provenance in the Republic of Macedonia, the oldest in the Balkan and one of the most long-standing in the world. It was established back in 1969, making artistic forms like cartoon, satiric drawing and comic strips available to the wider audience.
