Romania & The Arts Competition

This year, the competition will showcase Romania’s and Romanians’ vast contribution to both the visual and performing Arts capturing the abundance of talent expressed through music, film, theatre, dance, contemporary and classic fine art and design, and traditional craft-making.

Enthusiasts of photography are invited to send a maximum of 3 photographs – in digital format – to the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC).

Objective

BRCC invites you all to use your creative nature, to look around through rose-tinted lenses and capture artistic moments, no matter if they are just a children’s improvised dance on the street, the beauty of a Romanian national costume, or the refined lace of a traditional handicraft.

The goal is to capture the abundance of talent expressed through theatre, dance, contemporary and classic fine art and design, and traditional craft-making.

Send 3 photographs at max. – in digital format – to the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC).

Prizes

The photographs selected at a first stage short listing by the jury will be exhibited in the foyer of the Athénée Palace Hilton Hotel in Bucharest, from 1 – 30 June 2010.

The jury will choose and award three of the photographs exhibited at the Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel in Bucharest.

The names of the winners will be made public on 30 June, during a reception organized by the BRCC at Athénée Palace Hilton Hotel. Winners will be contacted directly by the BRCC.

  • First prize: 800 euro*
  • Second prize: 500 euro*
  • Third prize: 300 euro*
  • Award of popularity

*) the prizes are gross and subject to 16% income tax according to the current legislation in force.

Rules

  • Any enthusiastic in photography has the right to participate in the contest, except the staff members of BRCC and Point Max.
  • Participants must be over 18 years old (copy of the ID).
  • In order to participate at the contest one has to duly fill in the form attached and send it in the same email as the photographs.
  • Each participant can submit maximum 3 photographs.

How to enter?

In order to participate at the contest one has to duly fill in the form attached and send it in the same email as the photographs.

The photographs must be sent by email at foto@brcconline.eu – maximum 3 photographs in a .jpg format black and white, colour or sepia.

The short listed photographs that will be exhibited will be printed in an A4 format by the BRCC. In order to have a good quality print, only 300 dpi (2480 x 3508) photos will be printed.

The names of the files should read as follows: surname_name_01.jpg, surname_name_02.jpg etc

Photographs that arrive after 25 May 2010 will not be considered.
