Entry is open in “ScoglieraViva. Sculpting the Sea” international outdoor sculpture competition, now in its 19th edition. It features the direct intervention of sculptors on the cliffs in the town of Caorle, near Venice, Italy.
The sculptures turn the cliff into a real open-air contemporary art gallery, whose changes will be given by time and natural agents.
Three cash prizes of 2,000 Euro each, will be awarded in 2018. Board and lodging are also included during the stay at the City of Caorle, from 21st to 30th June 2018, for the creation of the work on site.
The theme is free. Every artist can freely choose the subject of his/her work, which will be carved on the large rocks of Euganean trachyte in Caorle by the 3 winning artists, selected by the Jury. The works will be made in the days between 21 June and 30 June 2018. The winning artworks will be presented to the public on the evening of 30th June 2018 in Caorle’s town centre.
The selection of the submitted projects will be made by an awarding jury including some prestigious names in the international contemporary art scene:
- Paolo De Grandis (Venice, Italy | Curator and Organizer of Exhibitions)
- Simone Pallotta (Rome, Italy | Curator of Public and Urban Art)
- Matteo Zauli (Faenza, Italy | Director at Carlo Zauli Museum)
Sculptors from all over the world, with no restrictions in terms of age, sex or other qualifications, are eligible to participate.
