The Sportimonium sport museum is currently accepting work for its 2015 International Cartoon Festival competition, themed “Cycling” and inviting cartoonists worldwide to participate with up to five cartoons.
This year the Cartoon Festival pays tribute to cycling, one of the most popular sports and omnipresent in the media. The subject may be interpreted very broadly: the Tour de France, with its publicity cars; cyclo-cross, in wintry conditions; or track cycling. Obviously, cycling icons like Merckx, Cancellara, Boonen, or the first Polish world champion Kwiatkowski, also play an important role in the story of cycling! In short, a thrilling theme that surely will excite cartoonists and fire their imaginations.
Prizes in a total of 1,250 Euro will be awarded to the best three (3) cartoons. The 1st place prize is 600 Euro, the 2nd place prize is 400 Euro and the 3rd place prize is 250 Euro.
Submitted works must be new — non-exhibited and non-published.
The awarded works will be announced at an exhibition at Sportimonium in Belgium, which will be free for any participant in this competition.
