Many good things come in small packages and the ‘smart fortwo’ is no exception. Its revolutionary design conveys innovation, functionality and joy of life. ‘smart fortwo’ is an expression of individuality. The ‘style your smart’ design contest is an opportunity to graphically display ideas for creative exterior design(s) for the ‘smart fortwo’.
These designs could some day be applied via foil. Thought starters for design themes can be but are not limited to … environment, family, puzzles, animals, graffiti, art, urbanization, technology, sports … YOU decide, YOU create, YOU should have fun doing it :)
Objective
The ‘style your smart’ design contest aims at helping to identify exterior graphic themes and motives that YOU and/or others like. The designs and themes could be used to inspire future smart fortwo exterior; instead of another color there might be gallery type graphic themes to choose from or even the possibility to have your own theme and graphics. The submitted design will not be produced in series without the submitted person’s approval. However, Daimler AG reserves the right to realize this contest’s designs as prototypes; this might or might not include modification of the submitted designs.
Prizes
All submitted designs have the opportunity to win cash prizes amounting to a total of €5,000 and much, much more publicity and exposure… No purchase necessary. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. The best three designs are influenced by the star-rating and number of votes. Ultimately, a professional jury will decide who the winners are.
- Design First Prize: €1,500
- Design Second Prize: €1,000
- Design Third Prize: €750
The three most active participants are determined by the number designs entered, the number of ideas rated, the number of comments and messages entered.
- Participation First Prize: €800
- Participation Second Prize: €500
- Participation Third Prize: €300
Prizes are non-transferable. This contest is governed by German law. Winners are responsible for any applicable local, state and federal taxes and any other charges including, but not limited to, duties, custom fees or other fees on prizes.
Rules
- Anyone who is passionate, interested and open minded, can enter the ‘style your smart’ design contest and start dressing up a smart with their ideas.
- The minimum age of the submitting and participating person is 18 years of age at the time of submission.
- Employees of Daimler AG and their sales organizations are encouraged to contribute their design ideas. However, these employees are not eligible for winning nominations and receiving prizes.
- Any recourse to courts of law is excluded.
- Prospective entrants must first register and accept the contest’s terms & conditions before submitting any of their designs.
- There are no limits to the number of submissions by registered participants.
- Each submitted design must include a title and a short description.

How to enter?
Register on the official website and style your smart.
You will have the possibility to either, upload their own design(s) or use the provided on-line toolkit to virtually configure their design(s). You may also actively contribute in the competition by voting for the best designs of other contestants and/or comment.
