Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2024

Enter the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2024 — one of the most important and anticipated photography competitions in the world and a showcase for both celebrated professionals and talented amateurs.

The competition that returns for its 17th year and it is open to photographers from around the world, aged 18 and over.

Photographers are encouraged to interpret ‘portrait’ in its widest sense, with photography focused on portraying people with an emphasis on their identity as individuals, with prizes ranging from £2,000 to £15,000.

Submitted photographs must be portraits. The prize winners and exhibition selection is judged on an equal and anonymous basis.

Photographers may submit up to six individual portraits or portraits in a series.

Please consider that previous first prize-winners, since and including 2008, are not eligible to enter the competition.

The Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize returns to the Gallery in St Martin’s Place after three years. This Prize is one of the most important and anticipated photography competitions in the world and a showcase for both celebrated professionals and talented amateurs. It’s always a highlight of the National Portrait Gallery’s year – and is a must-see for anyone interested in contemporary photography.

Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2024 – Entry Fee

Each entry costs £22 with the maximum amount of entries being 6 per artist.

Students, under 25 year olds and those on disability allowance will receive a 50% discount. Both universal credit and pension credit users will be able to enter for free.
