As part of the 23rd Treviso Comic Book Festival edition (TCBF 2026), the Fumetti in Treviso association announces the International Contest for New Comic Authors 2026, created in collaboration with Banca Prealpi San Biagio Credito Cooperativo.
The competition is open for entries and invites beginner comic authors of legal age to test their skills and create a comic story based on this year’s theme – Relationships.
Three main prizes will be awarded as part of the 2026 competition. 500 Euro are reserved for the First prize, 300 Euro for the Second prize, and 200 Euro for the Third prize.
The competition is open exclusively to Italian and foreign beginner authors who are 18 years old by 1st September 2026.
A beginner comic author is defined as someone who:
- does not have employment contracts in the field of comic drawing or writing.
- has never been published by national and/or international publishers (none of their works have been associated with an ISBN).
- has never been published in newspapers or magazine.
However, students from comic schools and authors who collaborate with fanzines or self-published works are eligible to participate.
Participants can enter either individually or as a group of artists.
The award ceremony of the International Contest for New Comic Authors TCBF 2026 will take place during the Carlo Boscarato Award ceremony on the 27th September 2026.
