The 15th International Computer Graphics Conference – VIEW Conference 2014 has recently opened this year’s competitions for its annual award program. Animated shorts with 2D/3D animation and VFX created in the last 2 years, that is from 2012 to 2014, can be submitted.
Winners will receive prizes in cash, technology and paid internships.
As in the last few years, in 2014 VIEW will include both students and non-students works.
The VIEW Award 2014 categories include:
- Best Short – for an outstanding short movie created with 2D, 3D digital animation, or live footage with the integration of digital visual effects. The duration cannot be more than 30 minutes.
- Best Design – for the best environment created with digital techniques: it can be entirely 3D or a mix of 2D/3D graphics and digital matte painting techniques. It may depict an interior or an exterior environment. 3D modeling, rendering and digital painting can be created with any 2D, 3D or digital painting software.
- Best Character – for the best digital character created for an animated short film or for a video game. The character may be produced with any software used for 2D or 3D graphics.
- Best Digital Visual Effects – for the best Digital Visual Effects sequence used in a CG animated or live-action short film. The VFX may be created with any software used for 3D graphics and compositing.
The first prize of the VIEW Award 2014 is 2,000 Euro.
VIEW Conference is a premiere international event in Italy on Computer Graphics, Interactive Techniques, Digital Cinema, 2D/3D Animation, Gaming and VFX. The 2014 Conference is scheduled for 14-17 October 2014 at TorinoIncontra in Turin.
