WorldNomads.com is inviting aspiring filmmakers around the world on a filmmaking competition for a chance to go on assignment in Colombia!
In its 2015 Travel Film Scholarship, the organizers are looking for one adventurous documentary filmmaker to capture the culture and the communities of Colombia’s Pacific Coast. That’s a 10-day all-expenses-paid trip in Colombia with professional mentorship from filmmaker Brian Rapsey.
To apply, you need to submit a documentary you created, featuring the ‘Profile of a Person who Inspires you to Travel the World’. Your film should be no longer than 3-minutes and in English.
The judges are looking for:
- Strong narrative within a 3 minute timeframe
- Focus on an individual person
- Your interviewing skills and ability to coax a good story from your subject
- Strong filmmaking skills
- Originality
- Visual engagement
If selected, on your assignment in Columbia, your job will be to document the story of a Pacific community nestled in one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. You will have an opportunity to document how the community lives and how they are working to promote tourism to the region.
