The call “your Apulian story” is aimed at selecting 2 young designers, hosting them for 3 months in Apulia (Italy) within an artist-in-residence program, tutoring them to design and realize products with local artisans and craftsmen, and exhibiting the prototypes during the Milan Design Week 2019.
The project is called DESIGNSTART and it comes from REDESIGN, a nonprofit organization founded thanks to the support of Puglia Region (Italy) government through the public initiative “PIN – Innovative Apulians”.
DESIGNSTART is a hub, a contemporary design lab that proposes international contests, workshops and events in the field of design.
The first international call is “your Apulian story” and it is aimed at selecting 2 young designers, hosting them for 3 months within an artist-in-residence program, tutoring them to design and realize one or more products or a line of products, working with the local artisans and design firms, creating a special link with the local producers.
The prototypes will be exhibited during the events of the Milan Design Week 2019 in order to give visibility to the young designers participating in the program. The final goal is to develop a platform that gathers and tells about Apulian design firms, artisans, artists and that may become an e-shop of the design made in Puglia (Italy).
The selected designers will win:
- € 500 award
- € 1,000 budget for the experimental lab
- 3 months artist-in-residence program in Puglia, Italy
- 1 exhibition during Milan Design Week 2019

Your Apulian Story – Participation Fee
There is no participation fee to pay, only the 2019 REDESIGN membership card, equal to 15 Euro.
