The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) is currently accepting submissions for the 12th “Painting on the Edge” open international juried exhibition competition. Painting on the Edge (POTE) is FCA’s yearly challenge to artists, both in Canada and abroad, to push their artistic limits and create extraordinary and unique images.
This year the Grand Prize is set at CAD $2,000 and more prizes are yet to be announced.
The 2014 contest is open to all artists working in two dimensions in all traditional art media (ex. Oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel mixed media, gouache, egg tempera, pen and ink; drawing media such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, scratch board, markers, metal point, and two-dimensional collage). Digital art, photography or three-dimensional art such as installation art or sculpture is not eligible.
Successful entries combine an original subject or concept, feature excellent composition and skillful use of their chosen medium.
The opening reception and awards ceremony of the 12th Painting on the Edge juried exhibition is scheduled for 21st August 2014.
