The most prestigious international competition for classical music, organized in Romania, Jeunesses competition, gets ready for its 19th edition.
Between 12 – 19 May 2012, violin musicians from over 40 countries are invited in Bucharest, to compete for €10.000 prizes.
The Jeunesses competition has been organized each year, since 1993, for several alternative disciplines – piano, violin, clarinet, flute, composition and canto. Its main goal is to discover, reward and promote the values of the new classical music generation, in order to support young musicians in building a successful career.
Objective
Each competitor must prepare one work from each group listed in the 2012 competition repertoire.
Prizes
All performers will receive participation diplomas.
Organizers provide lodging for the first 5 registered candidates. Accommodation begins on 5 May 2012 and is ensured for the period the participants remain in the competition. For the other participants, the organizers will make hotel reservations upon request, based on special accommodation packages offer.
Rules
Applicants must be born in or between the years:
- Age category B – born between 1.01.1998 – 31.12.2005
- Age category C – born between 1.01.1994 – 31.12.1997
- Age category D – born between 1.01.1982 – 31.12.1993
Younger competitors may apply for a superior age category.
- Each award-winner must receive his or her prize personally.
- The works in final round of the competition, must be performed from memory. For all other works, scores may be used.
- The order of the performance is always left to the participant’s own choice.

- application form
- copy of passport
- a recent photo – passport type
- copy of the bank confirmation for the payment of the registration fee of €80.
