Foam Magazine has just opened the Foam Talent Call 2014 photography competition for submissions and is once again seeking for young photography talents from all over the world. The competition is open for all photographers between 18 and 35 years old. Last year the selected portfolios were chosen from over 1500 submissions and this year, Foam Magazine is aiming for even more potential talents.

The Graphis Poster Annual 2015 showcases the top designs from the world’s most renowned in the industry. Platinum and Gold award winners are featured in the Graphis Annual Poster book and are awarded a Graphis certificate along with a permanent archive on Graphis.com. The 5th Annual Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival invites filmmakers to submit for consideration bicycle travel films ranging from 3 to 60 minutes. Films should feature bicycle travel of any type: organized tour or informal travel, domestic or international. In 2014, a Grand Jury Prize will be voted on by the Festival Jury of top bicycle, travel, and film festival directors and an additional Audience Prize will be announced. In addition to the Grand Jury prize and the Audience Award, the Bay State prize will be awarded to the best film submitted by a Massachusetts resident. The organizers seek films that portray a broad range of experiences – destinations ranging from small African villages to a campground 30 miles from home; solo travel or a family reunion on bicycles; an organized tour from inn to inn or a shoestring jaunt with tent and sleeping bag.

The Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA) competition has just opened for entries for 2014 and students around the world are once again invited to apply with their best work. In this multidisciplinary competition students may enter original work in Interactive media, Video and Traditional media, for a chance of winning up to US $5,000 in cash, one-year Adobe Creative Cloud memberships, mentorship from Icograda and worldwide recognition. The competition is divided in three (3) segments and a total of eleven (11) competition categories. ADAA 2014 will have two (2) judging sessions, scheduled as listed below.

The International Renaissance Photography Prize has just started accepting entries for the 2014 competition and all photographers are invited to enter. The Renaissance Photography Prize is an international award that showcases outstanding photography from emerging or established photographers while raising funds to support The Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care, UK. Photographers can win $10,000 worth of prizes and the finalist and shortlisted photographs selected by the judges will be exhibited in the UK at a top London gallery.

The Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation is proud to announce this year’s Science without Borders Challenge. This year, the Challenge is an art contest and challengers must submit an original piece of poster art on the theme “Protect our Coral Reefs”. The contest is open to 14-19 year-olds from US and international secondary schools (high schools). Throughout the world coral reefs are rapidly declining due to anthropogenic (human induced) and natural threats. Many scientists predict that we have already lost 19% of the original area of coral reefs. They also predict that if people don’t start making changes, than within the next 10-20 years, 15% of coral reefs will be seriously threatened with loss; and 20% will be under threat of loss in 20-40 years (Status of Coral Reefs in the World 2008).

The :output Foundation has recently opened submissions for its 17th International Student Award Competition, an annual selection of the best student work produced around the world in all disciplines of design and architecture. Any published or unpublished work not older than one year, produced as a student project is eligible for submission. The most talented student in this competition will be awarded the :output Grand Prix – a scholarship of 3,000 Euro!

Now in its eighth year, the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival (SMHAFF) international film competition provides its award-winners the opportunity to showcase their mental health films to Festival audiences. Winning films will be screened during the Festival, which takes place during October 2014, and honoured at the International Film Awards ceremony. Whether an established industry professional or an aspiring amateur, if your work engages with and explores mental health, then SMHAFF want to hear from you. The organizers are particularly interested in film makers understanding of mental health, the meaning they take from this term, and how they have interpreted this in their work. Films can address specific mental health issues, but are also keen to encourage innovative and diverse perspectives.

The 15th International Computer Graphics Conference – VIEW Conference 2014 has recently opened this year’s competitions for its annual award program. Animated shorts with 2D/3D animation and VFX created in the last 2 years, that is from 2012 to 2014, can be submitted. Winners will receive prizes in cash, technology and paid internships. As in the last few years, in 2014 VIEW will include both students and non-students works.
