2015 Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival

The 23rd Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival has announced the call for entries for new short films produced in 2014 or 2015, within the duration limit of 60 minutes, in film (35 or 16 mm) or video.

The Festival’s main objective is the promotion and diffusion of cinematographic and audio-visual works, selected according to a quality criteria. The event will put on focus not only on the discovery of new films and filmmakers but also on the recognized legacy of Cinema.

Thirteen (13) awards will be announced across the Festival’s competitions, of which five (5) awards are reserved for the International competition.

The 2015 Curtas Vila do Conde includes the following competitions:

  • International (fiction, documentary and animation);
  • Portuguese (Portuguese films of fiction, documentary and animation);
  • Experimental (films that defy narrative and technical conventions);
  • Music Videos (music videos from portuguese artists/producers);
  • Curtinhas (films for kids until 30 minutes);
  • Take One (productions until 30 minutes by Portuguese film students).

Animations, documentaries, fiction films, experimental films and music videos, in film (16mm and 35mm), video (Betacam SP PAL) or digital (including tapes or files), produced in 2014 or 2015, no longer than 60 minutes (unless noted exceptions), preferably with subtitles in Portuguese or English, are eligible for submission.

The submission deadline for the International competition is 10th April 2015!

The 23rd Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival, organized by Curtas Metragens CRL – Cooperativa de Produção Cultural CRL, based in Vila do Conde, Portugal, will be held from 4th to 12th of July 2015.

2015 Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival Submission Fees

Submissions start at 5 Euro per entry and vary depending on the time of submission. The Take One competition is free to enter.
