Fluid – Design Forum and NGO Flux are hosting the FLUID 2024 regional Awards for Young Designers: “SUSTAINABLE OPTIMISM”. Applications are open for young (18–35 years of age) graphic designers, illustrators, design&architecture students, visual artists, photographers, architects… from Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Albania. The three awarded authors will have an opportunity to take part in a joint exhibition or presentation @ FLUID #13/2025.

The Trieste Contemporanea Committee is pleased to announce the 15th edition of the International Design Contest with the aim of showcasing the most original contemporary design offerings from the countries of Central Eastern Europe. The competition is a biennial event established in 1995 by the Italian scholar of aesthetics and design Gillo Dorfles. The 15th edition of the contest runs in unison with the EU Slovenia-Italy cross-border project for Nova Gorica and Gorizia, designated European Capital of Culture (ECoC) in 2025. In preparing the ECoC event, organising bodies from the two cities (which form one continuous urban area on the border) declare to “share the same commitment: being the European Capital of Borderless Culture”.

Established in 2012 by artists for artists, Wells Art Contemporary (WAC) is an international opportunity for innovative visual artists working in all genres. WAC allows UK and international artists to put their work before a prestigious panel of judges. Selected entries are exhibited in the remarkable Gothic spaces of Wells Cathedral and seen by up to 50,000 people annually. They are automatically entered for a wide range of awards, including cash prizes, a residency, mentoring and more. Work may be offered for sale. The BIG SEE Awards in product and fashion design will be granted at the Design Week Ljubljana, 10th-12th October, 2024. This event will bring together top professionals and enthusiasts from around the world to celebrate innovation and excellence in the industry.

The Lumen Prize for Art and Technology is calling all artists engaging with technology to prepare their best work and enter the competition for 2024. The Prize celebrates and promotes artists working with technology globally through its annual juried competition and exhibitions. All art is eligible as long as it engages with technology in some form. These are the five categories which you may enter in 2024, each with a $1,500 prize. Up to 70 artists will become finalists, whose work will then be reviewed by the Jury Panel. There are nine total awards, with a collective prize fund of $18,000.
