The call for entry for the 2nd International Motion Festival (IMF), Cyprus 2013 is now open! Organized and hosted by the Department of Arts of the European University Cyprus, IMF 2013 is open for submissions from emerging artists, students and professional in eight categories.
The Festival aims to bring together film-makers, video artists, computer animators, graphic designers and their audience and to familiarize the public with what has traditionally remained as the “invisible art”: motion graphics.
It is the first of its kind both in Cyprus and the broader Mediterranean and Middle East region.

The 2nd International Motion Festival (IMF) is organized and will be hosted in Nicosia by the Department of Arts of the European University Cyprus in March 2013. Industry professionals, artists, scholars, students and the public will come together for a two-day festival in an atmosphere designed to inspire. It is expected that emerging artists, students and professionals in motion graphics from around the world will participate.
The festival will include:
- screenings of selected motion work
- keynote invited lectures from scholars in the field
- workshops relating to motion graphics and broadcasting software and tools.
The open call for motion work is based on the following categories:
- Motion Graphics / Broadcast Design
- Experimental
- Video Art
- 2D / 3D Animation
- Short Documentary
- Short Film
- 3D Mapping Projection Video Preview
- Other
Submissions are welcome from any individual or group of individuals (e.g., company, organization, association) Participants must be over the age of 17.
