The 6th Annual Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival invites amateur and professional filmmakers to submit bicycle travel films ranging from 3 to 60 minutes and enter the Festival’s competitive program.
Films must feature bicycle travel of any type: organized tour or informal travel, domestic or international. One of our best-received films involved an “epic” 12 mile journey not far from home – so there’s no need to jump on a plane to get a great film.
In addition to the Grand Jury prize and the Audience Award, there will be a Bay State prize, for the best film submitted by a Massachusetts resident. This award will include some first-class Massachusetts goodies! There’s also an “Alumni” category for those who have been on a Ciclismo Classico Tour.
The Festival’s mission is to celebrate Bike Week 2015 and to inspire attendees to explore by bicycle. Whether across the globe or a few towns away, there’s nothing that recharges and expands horizons like bicycle travel. The Festival will increase awareness and appreciation for bicycle travel by showcasing independent films that depict the adventure, humor, and growth inherent in two-wheeled journeys.
The organizers seek films that portray a broad range of experiences – destinations ranging from small African villages to a campground 30 miles from home; solo travel or a family reunion on bicycles; an organized tour from inn to inn or a shoestring jaunt with tent and sleeping bag
The creators of the selected films will be notified by 1st April 2015.
