The 9th Magmart International Videoart Festival has recently opened the call for submissions for the festival’s 2014-2015 edition.
Videoartists around the world are invited to submit short videos — fully realized with digital technology — of up to 10 minutes, for inclusion in the Festival official program. Videos already submitted for previous editions of Magmart — accepted or not — are not eligible for submission.
Of all the submitted artworks, the festival jury will select thirty (30) which will become part of Casoria Contemporary Art Museum (CAM) permanent collection.
Submissions are limited to five per artist and participation is free.
Magmart was inaugurated in 2005 and since then, the festival is held annually in Naples, Italy. Over 220 artworks were presented during the festival held in 2007, with 33% of all artists being women.
So far, around 120 videos have been submitted for inclusion in Magmart IX.
