Aesthetica Magazine is looking for work that demonstrates innovation and creativity, for its annual Aesthetica Art Prize competition, now open for entries for 2020.
Hosted by Aesthetica Magazine, the Aesthetica Art Prize is a celebration of excellence in art from across the world. It offers both emerging and established artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience, and further their engagement with the international art world.
The Art Prize is open to works in any genre, and on any theme, however, Aesthetica is particularly interested in works that reflect upon the ever changing world. Aesthetica is looking for pieces that challenge us – that redefine the parameters of contemporary art and compel audiences.
Prizes include £5,000 awarded to the Main Prize winner, £1,000 to the Emerging Prize Winner, as well as a group exhibition, and publications within an inspiring anthology for 100 shortlisted practitioners.
The Aesthetica Art Prize was launched in 2007, five years after the launch of Aesthetica Magazine, as a way to support the next generation of talent across new visual media. It welcomed both established and emerging practitioners.
In 2013, the prize evolved into an exhibition as well as a publication, presenting longlisted and shortlisted works from March to August in York, UK.
