Animage 2017 – International Animation Festival of Pernambuco

Animage — 8th International Animation Festival of Pernambuco is accepting submissions for 2017 and invites entries by filmmakers from around the world.

The Festival includes Competitive and Non-competitive Screenings of national and international animation films, in addition to special sessions, feature films, masterclass, exhibition and animation workshops for both beginners, children and professionals.

As part of the Animage competitive programs, trophies and a total of 13,000 Brazilian real will be awarded in 2017. The Best Short Film will receive R$ 4,000 and the Best Children’s Short Film, Best Brazilian Short Film and the Best Short Film by the Audience, will receive R$ 3,000 each.

Animage 2017’s competitive screenings categories include:

  1. Short film – Films lasting up to 30 minutes
  2. Children’s Short Film – Films lasting up to 30 minutes
  3. Brazilian Short Film – Films lasting up to 30 minutes made in Brazil

The Animage Festival reaffirms its stance of understanding the animation as cultural art more than as commercial industry. The festival privileges risk, boldness, ideas, reinvention and the use of digital or crafty tools as a support for the development of critical imagination and exercise of creative freedom. It is produced by Rec-Beat Productions, sponsored by Caixa Cultural Recife, incentive by Funcultura – Government of the State of Pernambuco and support from Joaquim Nabuco Foundation, Consulate of France and Institut Français.

The event for 2017 will take place in the city of Recife, in Brazil, 10th—19th November, 2017.
